WEDDING PARTY® Series Mixed Lenten Rose | Helleborus

The double-flowered Helleborus WEDDING PARTY® series debuted in 2015, an effort of years of work from Walters Gardens hybridizer Hans Hansen. In his breeding work, he selects for plants with notable vigor, showy floral displays with large numbers of blossoms per plant, and rich flower colors.

The double-flowered Helleborus WEDDING PARTY® series debuted in 2015, an effort of years of work from Walters Gardens hybridizer Hans Hansen. In his breeding work, he selects for plants with notable vigor, showy floral displays with large numbers of blossoms per plant, and rich flower colors.

A mixture of color strains custom blended at the plug level for a more evenly distributed mix. Colors in the mix include black, mauve purple, white, yellow, and pink.

Hellebores are the harbingers of spring, blooming for six weeks or more beginning in late winter.  They are often flowering during the Christian season of Lent, from which they get their common name, Lenten Rose.  This is the perfect plant for naturalizing in moist, woodland areas where its extensive root system will spread as far as it is allowed.

All perennial plugs are healthy 1 year old plants, planted in trays. There is soil around the roots, but we recommend bringing a container for ease of transportation. As with bare root plants, we recommend transplanting plugs immediately.
