
At Wayne Village Pottery, that lovely stuff known as Maine “blue” clay is dug out of our back field. The early redware potters also used this kind of clay, and we enjoy following their tradition of creating handmade pottery which is useful, affordable and decorative.
Right outside of our pottery shop door, sits an enormous & gorgeous maple tree. She has been here since we bought the place in 1976. We have climbed it, tapped it, raked it's leaves but mostly- it is our time-keeper, standing guard outside our shop and reminding us of time passing by. Dead branches shed in the winter, providing sap in the spring while starting to bud out, then an explosion of green in the summer, followed by the awesome color changes & dropped art of the fal
